I click the globe icon, which loads the web browser mode, and I have even
disabled the front page html that loads by default. If Konqueror is already
in my cache, it will take it about 2-3 secs to load, but if I had just
started X, it will take 4-5 secs. As I said, in my machine, all the binaries
for KDE 2.2 apps are objprelinked. Before using objprelinked binaries
Konqueror needed up to 6-7 secs to load.
I use a fast IBM IDE drive 30 GB (the one that Toms Hardware said that it is
the fastest IDE), ext2, 256 MB RAM, dual Celeron 533 and I have verified
this performance in my PC with both RedHat and Mandrake 8 distros.
