getaddrinfo() is called from KSocket/KExtendedSocket (kdelibs/kdecore) which 
is used by kio_http (kdelibs/kio/http) which does the handling of HTTP.

Note that this code has been changed quite dramatically for KDE 2.2 wrt KDE 
2.1.
