Hm, I did the following and it didn't crash:

1.) Window/Load view Profile/File Preview
2.) Open a folder in the middle frame
-> Right frame shows contents
(um, why can't I select 'back' at this stage??)
3.) Click on a file in the right frame.
-> The file is being preview in the right frame
4.) Window/Load View Profile/Midnight Commander
-> two equal message boxes pop up, telling me that the (previewed) URL
is a file and that a path was expected.
-> Both frames appear empty.
5.) Right-click on one of them
-> popup appears, as expected.

This is with KDE 2.1.0 from Mandrake 8.0 beta 2.
