When you use <pre> (preformated text) in youre html-code, the ENTER should used. But \
in konqueror 1.9.8 the sentence wil continue on the same line.

for example:

<pre>
  This is a test
  This is the 2e line
</pre>

Wil shown in konqueror as:

This is a test This is the 2e line
