From kfm-devel Wed Jan 17 14:28:51 2001 From: David Watson Date: Wed, 17 Jan 2001 14:28:51 +0000 To: kfm-devel Subject: Bug#18719: Extremely slow rendering X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kfm-devel&m=97975915608323 Package: khtml Version: 3.0 (KDE 2.1 post Beta 1) Severity: normal Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20001229 (prerelease) OS: Linux 2.4.0 i686 (Debian Package 4:2.1-20010109-1 (testing/unstable)) If you go to www.kent.edu/students (yes, it's a horrid webpage, but I have to go there often), the sidebar on the left which has tons and tons of links takes an incredibly long time to render (from 30-60 seconds on a Celeron 366 with plenty of RAM). Netscape can do it in about half a second. It appears that it keeps adjusting its rendering, perhaps because of all the little images. But whatever the cause, it SHOULDN'T be that slow.
