Subject: cyrillic encoding when posting
From: g.e.t@newmail.ru

Package: konqueror
Version: KDE2.0
Severity: normal
Installed from: RPM (Mandrake 7.2 distribution)

I'm accessing web page in cp1251 encoding (META charset tag present, no charset in \
http header) with a form. (Basicly, it is online forum.) Page is displayed correctly \
and Konqueror allows me to enter text in cyrillic alphabet and displays it nicely. \
But, after submitting form, my text appears on the board in a wrong character \
encoding (along with text from other people in a rigth encoding). (Form has method \
POST)

Apparently, it comes through extra KOI8-r ->cp1251 conversion. When I tried to submit \
text passed through recode cp1251->KOI8 (I was not able to read it in a form space), \
it appeared on the webboard nicely.

Sorry, I cannot reproduce it in "lab", because I do not have webserver and do not \
know how to deal with one, but I believe that it is problem of Konqueror, because I \
encountered it on two different websites (www.sight.ru and www.gambler.ru/phorum) and \
Netscape 4.75, running along with Konqueror do not have this problem.

With best wishes,
Gombo Tsydynjapov
