Yes, the current samba CVS HEAD does not build this library anymore. This was
mostly due to the fact that the samba developers lacked maintainers of a
library (needs work to maintain stable published API, etc. ) . Some engineers
from Caldera talked with the Samba people and they will take care of
maintaining that library. This means the samba CVS HEAD will soon "get a
library again" (meaning the internal libsmb is going to get installed and
will get a proper header file/interface) , a library we can rely on.
