icon view or column view, if column widths not suer specified, then
have it automatically size to the largest filename currently in the window
pane. ie:

this is a very long filename.txt    heres another file.txt                  \
a third column.txt something.txt                            onceagain.txt   \
almost done.txt blah.txt                                    blah2.txt       \
lastone.txt

get the idea?
