Well, I didn't read the last mails very exactly, was there some "rough
consensus" ?

Well, I just sent David my current version of configurable listview.
All items are in a submenu, the settings are shared for all protocols and
listviews.

I'm a small-screen-user (14" with large virtual screen).
kfm was always to big, especially compared to mc to use there.

With the configurable listview I would select the columns I want to see if I
browse locally, as a compromise of enough information and not taking to much
space. Actually I would like to see the same information for every protocol I
browse. For me it would be more convinient if the columns wouldn't change while
browsing, so that the space the listview takes on the screen stays the same.

Why not displaying a small icon (a cross or something) meaning "not supported"
in the column which is not supported ?
Since detailedlistview and treeview have automatically resizing columnwidth the
columns will become small and konqy will tell you directly "this is not
supported by this protocol" -> no guessing why the column is empty or hidden or
why the menu item is disabled.

Bye
Alex
