Wise decision;)

Hmmm, is it really *that* different? Do you use KIO, KDirLister and
friends?
Wouldnīt it already help much to simply disable mimetype checking in the
listview? Like the Iconview does. But instead of checking the mimetypes
after all files got inserted into the Iconview just do nothing. Of
course you can also disable icons to get it even faster.
I would rather like if we do some speed tuning of the current listview
instead of deriving a new class. That would help all Qlistview based
views. But as I said I donīt know the internals of you textview.

Have you looked at KonqListViewWidget::readProtocolConfig()? I havenīt
tried it yet, though.

Simply not adopted to the treeview -> listview change. So Iīd say feel
free to do it:)
