Besides other things I really liked kfm(as web browser) for its fast response. But it looks like there is a bug in this program. As I was using kfm to connect to a site which was slow I saw that my system speed is going down with lot of disk thrashing(I have a habit of doing a lot of stop-reconnects when connecting to a site with slow response) . So I tried to figure out the reason using task manager. And I could see that I have about 100 kioslave processes hanging around. After playing around a little bit with kfm, I could figure out that you fork kioslave processes, which goes away quickly when connecting to a fast site, but the number is around 6-8 when connecting to a slower site. Also when I did stop-reconnect on the same site the older kioslaves did not go away and I got more of them. I repeated the stop-reconnect step and kept on getting more kioslaves. Looks like a serious but small bug in a nice program. After looking into your bug data base it looks like my problem is related to #701. I hope that this could be fixed for kfm if konqueror is not coming out soon. I use linux os 6.5 from mandrake The version of kfm is 1.167.2.21 kernel version is 2.2.3 glibc - i do not know Thanks, Ashish __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
