I really can't make sense of the backtraces I'm getting at all; that
combined with other things lead me to the decision that I should disable
the SIGSEGV handler.

So, unless you compile with -DNDEBUG kio_http will leave behind coredumps.
*please* if you find/generate any, take a look.
