This is a problem I have with konqueror, accessing my web-banking account. The
site's URL is https://www.winbank.gr/loginPortal/login.asp?Lang=GR

The pages contain the following:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1253">
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-7">

Both firefox and konqueror (KDE 3.5.9) use windows-1253, and correctly display
the page. The problem here is the way my name ("ΓΕΩΡΓΑΡΑΣ ΣΠΥΡΙ" in Greek)
is interpreted/displayed by konqueror. This is what each browser "sees":
Firefox: ΓΕΩΡΓΑΡΑΣ ΣΠΥΡΙ
konqueror: %u0393%u0395%u03A9%u03A1%u0393%u0391%u03A1%u0391%u03A3 %u03A3%u03A0%u03A5%u03A1%u0399

Maybe this helps; firefox states it is in "compatibility mode" - whatever that
means. Maybe konqueror should "decode" the %u0393 sequence

In KDE 4.1, konqueror reports the page as windows-1253, but
login_files/MainAreaGR.htm, which is inside an iframe, is displayed using
utf-8 (the default)

Furthermore when I do login, I find I cannot follow links of this type
javascript:Click('controlpanel/payments/010/step1.asp?Menu=YES&','Ιστορικό'....
(this is how I see it in konqueror KDE 3.5.9)
In konqueror (KDE 4.1) it becomes:
javascript:Click('controlpanel/payments/010/step1.asp?Menu=YES&','???????'....
which is invalid and unusable

The bottom line is that I cannot use this site either with KDE 3.5.9 or KDE
4.1, so I have to use firefox for it

I would be really glad to see either of these problems fixed

  Spiros
