one feature that has gone into KDE4 khtml is heuristic encoding detection.
autodetection itself is implemented in this tiny class:

(i also added support for autodetection to kate)

so, as html engine moves to Qt, it would be nice to also move this class  
to Qt or even to apple upstream.
