yes it does :-) 
Mmh, this does not sound like an obvious solution. Maybe the khtmlpart can 
still be created without being rendered?

However, only in the desktop version this helps. It seems konqe has an 
additional problem. 

konqe is based on kde 3.5.1, are you aware of any changes in kthml related to 
iframes since then?
