Replying to myself because there is a change in behaviour in HEAD (pointed  to 
me by David and I have been seeing how it works and even managed to invoke it 
once accidently, which is its main porpose).

Basically, before the search, you get a confirmation box.

For me, this is more than enough and I am happy.

Others, Datschge maybe, may like a "don't show this again" button if they want 
to use this "feature" without hassle. Or maybe a "disable search on paste" 
also, for the other camp. But mainly, I think this is fixed.
