| Besides this re-layouting effect, konqueror really is a _lot_ slower with
| certain tables when compared to netscape or IE. For example, the company
| I work for has a large monitoring page consisting of :
|
| - a large 10x10 table
| - every cell's background is tiled with a 1x1 gif to give it a color
| (don't ask me why)
| - every cell contains a small piece of text (linked)
| - every cell contains a small picture (linked)
|
| I can actually almost count every cell that is being displayed when
| rendering this page. This is on an Athlon 900/256mb with a 100Mbit link to
| the page in question.
|
| If someone is interested in trying to get the rendering of this situation
| up to speed in khtml, let me know and I will create a testcase (I can't use
| my company's original page).
yes, please make a testcase from that page.
I am *very interested* to see it - as for me Konqueror is much faster than
Mozilla (and in most cases, faster than Opera)
|
| Thanks,

|
| PS I have another page which khtml can barely cope with, although IE
| doesn't have the slightest problem at all rendering it. Let me know if I
| need to create a testcase.
Yes, please... :-)
