I looked in freshmeat, rpmfind and sourceforge without success. It uses KHTMLPart? The short description you gave (kiosk mode) and some good DCOP interfaces is everything we need for this project. Folks, thank you for your responses. Regarding all those key-bindings and accelerators issues, we are planning to run this solution without KDE nor a window-manager. We'll have only XServer, a special keyboard, no mouse, a screen, and the browser (probably started with -geometry parameter). Regarding writing our own application, this will be made later, probably using Java. But right now the customer needs a very practicall solution to keep using its Cobol/Dos application in MicroFocusCobol/Linux with minimum changes. Anybody wants to write a simple-free-opensource-rpmized application using KHTMLPart and DCOP in one week, to be used in this solution? It MUST run with the KDE libraries present in RedHat 7.1 because our POS hardware need special 3rd party drivers that are supported and bound only to RH7.1 kernel version (2.4.2). The importance of DCOP is that the hardware has a special keyboard that X can't understand. Input will be handled by the customer application, and HTML files will be generated. Then, the application will call the browser DCOP interfaces to update the window. Ugly, but fast to do with what we have now. I suggest you have a look at kdenox - despite its name you can still use it
with X as well.

it is a simple browser that can be easily expanded for your needs (i.e. use
the kiosk mode that is built-in).
