Hi,

I've been using keepalived for a long time and the primary use case for
us is on routers where we have a lot of interfaces and we move the
default gateway for the clients from the primary to the secondary
router. Especially in this scenario we have about 100 interfaces (almost
all vlan's).

The configuration is rather straight forward with one vrrp_instance, a
subset of the ip addresses in the virtual_ipaddress block and the rest
of the addresses in virtual_ipaddress_excluded. Every address line
includes the interface and this way every interface gets all the IP
addresses that it should have.

Now I'm looking into the use_vmac option and that seems to give some new
problems. To me it almost looks like I have to create a seperate
vrrp_instance for every interface where I want to create a vmac
interface. Using the option I use above where I put the inteface in the
address line doesn't work because then the address ends up on the
sub-interface instead of the vmac interface.

I would expect that the use_vmac option would trigger the creation of a
vmac interface for every interface that is mentioned in the address lines.

Could someone help me understand this?
