why don't we define the directory name as alphanumeric?

and btw, you shouldn't use constructions such as
tUrl.setPath( tUrl.path( KUrl::RemoveTrailingSlash ) + QDir::separator() +
encodedAppName() );

you should use KUrl::addPath for that.

The pathUp function is not being used and does the same as KUrl::upUrl()
(afaik).

And well, good to see someone working on this code :).
