Actually I was thinking about a similar feature for a while but hadn't any time to implement it yet. IMO the best would be to have the developer's snippets stored in his home directory. Besides this he should be able to specify other directories where snippets a stored. A company could set up several global snippet pools (for example one for each product they are developing) and the developers could mount (samba, NFS, ...) these pools to their workstations and use them in KDevelop. The paths to all needed snippet pools would be stored in the KDevelop project file. The snippets from these paths would then be imported when a project gets opened and maybe there should be a "Re-Sync" button or so. These thoughts are also part of a wish. See http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106165 for details. So I think this is definatly a feature to be implemented. Do you plan to implement this feature for KDevelop-3.x? If so, when will be the next feature release of the kdevelop/3.4 branch? I'm asking this because I've planned to rewrite a big part of my original snippet-part sourcecode for KDevelop-4.x (SVN HEAD). And one point I had on my list was to change the way snippets get stored. But I would be happy if you could handle this issue.
