In C++, enum types are very weak, i.e. enum literals are flattened out
as untyped constants.
Other languages (such as Pascal, Ada, and Java-1.5) do strict type
checking on enum literals.
The suggested change is a prerequisite for making Kdevelop less
C++ specific.
BTW, UML renders enum types this way too (Umbrello.)
