Well, I don't have the problem anymore, at least not on my main box.  I 
upgraded the KDE in an effort to fix the problem.  Seems like it did the 
trick.  I'll give it a shot on my old clunker tomorrow.  I discovered the 
problem occured there as well.  I haven't attempted it since I sent the first 
message.

I haven't looked at KDevelop in about a year.  I am really impressed with what 
it can do.
