Bug ID: 309340
Severity: normal
Version: 4.3.1
Priority: NOR
Assignee: kdevelop-bugs@kdevelop.org
Summary: The gdb plugin can't properly create breakpoints in
function templates
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
Reporter: hcc@gatech.edu
Hardware: openSUSE RPMs
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Component: CPP Debugger
Product: kdevelop
Created attachment 74904

Demo code for breakpoints in function templates
When working with function templates, the gdb plugin does not correctly insert
breakpoints set in function templates.
Referring to the attached code, say I want to debug the value of "i" in the
function template before it gets printed. Hence I would set a breakpoint at
line 7, i.e. "std::cout << t.name() << i << std::endl;"
When doing that in kdevelop, the debugger (F9) wont start properly, the debug
tab stays empty and no code seems to be executed.
I'll add some more comments later on the expected behavior.
Thanks for looking into that.
Claus
