This most probably happens because gdb crashed - which is most probably a bug
in gdb itself.
Often such a crash is triggered by pretty printers.

To fix the issue you must reproduce the crash inside plain gdb, let me know if
you still can reproduce and you want to help tracking down that crash. (yes,
you reported that quite some time ago - sorry)
