Summary: Search for text in files usuablity needs to be
re-thought out
Product: kdevelop
Version: 4.1.0
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs@kdevelop.org
ReportedBy: adam.c.parsons@gmail.com
Version: 4.1.0 (using KDE 1.2)
OS: Linux
There are a bunch of usability issues with the search for text in files
feature. First I never know what results i currently have selected/showing.
This is extremely painful to navigate if you multiple results. Secondly, You
can't close any of your search results. If a search pulls up nothing useful,
then you just have to live with it which is annoying especially if navigating
through a lot of results. Third, i can't jump to the search results i want,
instead i have to navigate with the silly arrow keys through all the results
until i find the one I need.
Personally, I think this feature has taken a step backwards from what was
available with the kdevelop 3.5 series. Bring back the tabs, please!
BTW, I love kdevelop i think it's a great program, i use it all the time. Keep
up the great work.
