Summary: Documentation viewer: problematic size constraints
(please remove/amend them)
Product: kdevelop
Version: 4.1.0
Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: documentation viewer
AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs@kdevelop.org
ReportedBy: Warp_7@gmx.de
Created an attachment (id=53877)

Screenie showing the documentation viewer and search bar at different window
sizes
Version: 4.1.0 (using KDE 4.5.3)
OS: Linux
The documentation viewer has a maximum height and width set to it which
interfere with operation.
Firstly: on bigger screens, if the searchbar is opened to search text within
the displayed help article, the viewer keeps to a maximum height, the rest is
filled up by the search bar.
Secondly: in the German locale, the search bar becomes wider than the maximum
width of the viewer. This has several implications:
1) when KDevelop is first loaded, the viewer is as wide as the search bar needs
it to be. Then, when the splitter to resize the viewer is first used, it jumps
to the maximum width,
2) the searchbar gets squeezed then,
3) when the viewer is in unlocked mode, the search bar pushes the right
vertical tabs out of the window
Please see the attached screenshot for clarification.
Reproducible: Didn't try
