Summary: allow to exclude files and directories from project
           Product: kdevelop
           Version: 4.0.0
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Build tools: Custom Makefiles
        AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs@kdevelop.org
        ReportedBy: olig9@gmx.de

Version: 4.0.0 (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS: Linux

It would be very useful if there was a way to manually exclude some files and
directories from a "Custom Makefiles"-based project. My current working tree
contains several files which are old, contain notes, or are logfiles or
Callgrind files; also there are some directories with "old stuff". Currently
all of these are visible in the project tree, and worse, they also appear in
the Quick Open list, cluttering the list with useless and wrong entries.

If there was a way to manually specify files which should not be part of the
project, this would be very helpful. I suppose it would also decrease the time
required for re-parsing the project files.

Reproducible: Always

I think in Kdev3 this feature was available, but in Kdev4 it's missing.
