The 'split view' feature works different in KDevelop4 and Kate. IMHO the way it
works in Kate is better.

In Kate, all open documents are available in all views, and you can have the
same document in two views if you want to (useful if you want to look at two
different sections).

In KDevelop4 (and KDevelop3), each view has it's own set of open documents.
There's no way to open the same document in two views, there's also no way of
moving a document between views, without closing it, and opening it with the
other view focused. If the last document in a view is closed, the view
disappears, and must be split again to have another document in a separate
view.
