Which language does the project use? (C++, PHP, ...)
Moving a project isn't a very good idea because the project file in KDevelop3
has absolute paths for some of the settings.

About the buildsystem: If you're using C++, did you have an automake or qmake
tab on the right border of the KDevelop? If you can't remember check the
project directory wether it has a Makfile.am or a .pro file in it or just a
plain Makefile.
