Summary: Advanced code visualisations (integration with plasma?)
Product: kdevelop
Version: unspecified
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs@kdevelop.org
ReportedBy: pktoss@gmail.com
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
For really hard problems, the ability to see your code in a variety of ways can
be instrumental for gaining insight fast.
Kdevelop with DUChain and valgrind integration has a really cool framework for
getting a decent compile and runtime view of a project and there are many
interesting
visualizations that could help present this to the user
(syntax diagrams, callgraphs, port networks, ...)
A lot of these visualizations have already been written for other frameworks so
the main problem is how to offer a 'canvas' that can feed off the DUChain and
Valgrind/GDB.
Lots of useful visualizations can then be implemented on top of that.
Perhaps this canvas can be a plasma containment embedded like they do in
amarok.
This would allow for shareable visualizations in javascript :)
