From kdevelop-bugs Fri Sep 26 11:43:48 2008 From: Martin Gebert Date: Fri, 26 Sep 2008 11:43:48 +0000 To: kdevelop-bugs Subject: [Bug 171701] New: Using different debuggers for different build Message-Id: X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kdevelop-bugs&m=122242951203280 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=171701 Summary: Using different debuggers for different build configurations Product: kdevelop Version: unspecified Platform: Gentoo Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs@kdevelop.org ReportedBy: murphy.gebert@gmx.de Version: 3.5.3 (using KDE 3.5.9) OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages As KDevelop 3.5 supports cross compiling environments including remote debugging quite well, I'm missing the possibility to override the default debugger settings (as defined in the project settings) for any build configuration. Example: Consider having the configurations "debug (host)" and "debug (target)". While I often test and debug my code on the host first (using the preinstalled GDB), as soon as I deploy it to the target I need to change the build configuration (conveniently by the project menu) *and* the debugger settings (project menu -> project options -> Debugger -> debugger executable = "-gdb" + GDB config script = "/Path/To/connectToTarget.conf") separately; if the wrong debugger is specified debugging would fail silently. This is at least inconvenient, but too often confusing and annoying (esp. to colleagues that aren't as experienced with the GNU toolchain, for whose I try to provide a as-far-as-possible-ready-to-use devel environment). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ KDevelop-bugs mailing list KDevelop-bugs@kdevelop.org https://barney.cs.uni-potsdam.de/mailman/listinfo/kdevelop-bugs
