Currently, there is no clear way to tell if a program has finished, unless one a deliberately built into the source code. The Stop debugger buttons are still active, and the only indication is the small "Program exited normally" or some such thing in the status line at the bottom, which disappears after a few seconds. That message shouldn't be erased so easily, or there should be some other way to tell if a program has finished.
