I have experienced this crash as well while debuggin a C app. Debian \
testing/unstable, kdevelop 3.5.0 on kde 3.5.8 and gdb 6.6.90.20070912-debian

I saw this on the .xsession-errors:
ASSERT: "text.endsWith("\n")" in \
/build/buildd/kdevelop-3.5.0/./languages/cpp/debugger/gdboutputwidget.cpp (125)

I wonder if this is not the same bug as:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146958
