Sometimes when my c++ app stops at a breakpoint the frame stack becomes 'confused' \
with its tree rapidly changing.  When it eventually stops the same thread may be \
shown multiple times (see attached screenshot).  After this has happened the \
variables view and switching frame/thread don't work properly: I can't see the values \
of any variable through kdevelop.  If I use gdb command interface (frame, thread, \
print) I can still see the data correctly.

Unfortunately I don't know how to replicate this reliably, although it is fairly \
common.
