Summary: kdevelop hangs at startup trying to process new sub-
directories inspite of not including them
Product: kdevelop
Version: 3.4.1
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs kdevelop org
ReportedBy: ndeb ece cmu edu
Version: 3.4.1 (using KDE 3.5.7, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.2.3 20030502 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-53)
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.4.21-47.EL
1) Run "kdevelop --profile CandCppIDE" from a terminal.
2) It loads up the saved project and in the process detects sub-directories/files \
which are not part of the project. It lists those subdirectories/files in a pop-up \
window asks if the user wants to include them. Click on the cancel button.
3) Inspite of clicking on the cancel button, the terminal shows messages about \
kdevelop trying to process these new directories/files ->
Added already watched Entry </x/y/file1.h> (now 2 clients) [KDirWatch-2]
Added already watched Entry </x/y/file2.h> (now 2 clients) [KDirWatch-2]
....
4) If some of these sub-directories are large then kdevelop gets hung and the only \
way out is to kill the application.
I am not sure why kdevelop wants to watch sub-dirs/files that the user specifically \
does not want to include in the project.
