I never thought of this. Hard to see a good solution though.. the search-replace plugin doesn't depend on a file to be open to do replacements on it, so what the editor thinks of a file doesn't really matter. It seems reasonable to use the same codepage setting as is used for the project, but on individual files that can still be wrong. For open files the solution is obviously to use their current codepage setting, but for any others? Hmm..
