Summary: show pointers as arrays/array browser
           Product: kdevelop
           Version: 3.4.1
          Platform: SuSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs kdevelop org
        ReportedBy: robert.leathley ricardo com

Version: 3.4.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

component values are shown for array variables, but not for pointers. It should be \
possible to configure a pointer to be displayed as an array other than typing it in \
and 'watching' it, eg. 'p[21] 10' The pointer may be buried in a complex class \
structure and need a lot of typing to get to it. The simplest approach would be to \
have a 'copy name' context menu in addition to the 'copy value'. You could then \
configure the watch how you like.

Even better would be a 2d table view of multi-dimension arrays (like SGI's cvd array \
browser). This lets you view large arrays, specifying the dimension sizes (if not \
known from the code) and which slice you wish to view.
