yes, stepping is equally slow (and if this bug is addressed it should be applied to that also).

The files I step through/into are in the project although obviously they include headers outside it.  The internal commands contain many commands such as:
-var-create KDEV77 * "widget"
-var-evaluate-expression "KDEV82
print ($kdev_s>0) ? (*((char*)&$kdev_d.data[0]) $kdev_s) : ""
-var-update *
The latter being particularly slow.

If there is anything I can do to make life easier for gdb I'd love to know about it.  Part of the problem may be that the files are stored in clearcase which can slow down access a fair bit.
