I don't really think the options for the formatter are that limited and apart from one or two bugs astyle works pretty well for me and other KDevelop hackers.

Anyway Megan Webb (who worked on the astyle support for 3.4) was planning to look into other code reformatters for KDevelop4. I don't know wether she considered indent yet, but any new support will happen in KDevelop4.
