Well, a good reason is that the dialog needs space on the screen. And I actually hate \
such dialogs that stay open, because most of the time they are directly where the \
next match is found so I have to move them. I find the F3-Shortcut much better, after \
all I don't want to change anything when I want to find the next occurence I just \
want to find it, no need for a dialog.

Anyways, you should discuss this on the proper channel, which is either a wishlist \
bug against kate or the kwrite-devel list.
