My project setup:

/root
  /build
    /mingw
    /msvc
    /linux
  /src

* Import Existing Project -> Generic C++ Application (Custom Makefiles) 
  with /root/build/linux as directory
 
* the project is populated with any (*.cpp|*.h) files found (none in my case)

* in project options, I can define the project root relative to the project file

* I'd like to get asked if I want to populate the project. Right now I have to manually add all the files.
