You're lucky this can be considered a bugfix, so this will make it into 3.4.0. I'm \
not sure though I can fix it this weekend, there are just sooo many places where \
files are handled. 

Anyway, I'm going to commit a small fix that already makes clicking $$FOOBAR/file.cpp \
in the details view resolve the variables and thus you can open up files with \
variables through the manager.
