step by step:
-crate a project template
-leave FileTemplates empty or comment FileTemplates out
-set ShowFilesAfterGeneration (this file(s) contain %{CPP_TEMPLATE})
-install project template
-create a new project from template
-BUG: %{CPP_TEMPLATE} still contained in your files
-expected: %{CPP_TEMPLATE} should be replaced with a empty string

workaround:
-remove %{CPP_TEMPLATE} if FileTemplates empty
