Really? This is monumentally frustrating. (Almost)No one has reported this problem \
for two years, but it was very common during a short period. See these for the gory \

I found nothing objectionable in your kdeveloprc file, I assume removing it doesn't \
help?

As a possible workaround, you could try starting KDevelop like so:
"kdevelop --style plastik"
That really should make it avoid the Checked style.

Do you run KDevelop under KDE or under some other desktop environment?
