With "form editor" I assume you are referring to the in KDevelop embedded designer. \
This should be the same designer as the standalone 'kdevdesigner'. Please try \
KDevDesigner standalone to make sure this is in fact the buggy application.

The way I read the report, you are saying:

KDevDesigner, preview: works
KDevDesigner, program binary: does not work
Qt Designer, preview: works
Qt Designer, program binary: works

Is this correct?
