There is probably a line of code somewhere in KDevelop that unsets that shortcut and \
uses it for something useful instead. (The function keys really shouldn't be taken by \
a component meant for embedding.)

Anyway, you can easily set F11 to whatever you like in the "configure shortcuts" \
dialog. See the settings menu (or possibly the katepart settings).

You can, of course, also toggle linenumbers through the menu ('View').
