Summary: invinite loop when konsole is unable to open PTY
           Product: kdevelop
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs kdevelop org
        ReportedBy: simon.huerlimann access unizh ch

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I created a new ruby project in KDevelop. When selecting the 'Konsole' Tab, I get the \
following error message:
> Konsole is unable to open a PTY (pseudo teletype). It is likely that this is due to \
> an incorrect configuration of the PTY devices. Konsole needs to have read/write \
> access to the PTY devices.

It only offers me an 'OK' button, but when clicked, the Konsole tab does some kind of \
refresh (blanking) and the message is shown again.

There are two things:
 1. I don't know why this error occurs in the first place. I'm able to open up a \
standalone Konsole without any problems. I guess this is some missconfiguration on \
my/Kubuntu's part. If you can give me some hints, I'll further investigate this \
error.

 2. The console part in KDevelop shouldn't retry to initialize the Konsole \
invinitely, but just show the error message once.

Thanx for helping KDE.
Simon
