This is an interesting problem.
I can only replicate it if I
1.  Create a new project.
2.  Ask for simple C++ hello world.
3.  pick a name.
4.  set .h and .cpp templates to a comment.
5.  Build
7.  start debug.  
Program terminates normally with no output.
If I stop the Kdevelop environment then start it again things work as expected.
So I have a simple work around, just restart the environment after creating a new project.  
Wierd how it only happens on my machine.  

Since no one else seems to have the problem and I have a work-around, I guess we should close this one.
