I refer to this system setup:
SuSE Linux 9.3 / KDE 3.4.0 / KDevelop 3.2.0

I also experienced this nasty rapid memory leak each time after I tried to close a \
big C source code file (packet-smb.c from the ethereal project, 507KB). 

Whether I manage to kill kdevelop within 2-5 seconds after closing the file or I \
watch Linux hanging and swapping for the next 10 minutes until it finally manages to \
kill kdevelop itself.

The problem seems to be independent from hardware or filesystem... I experienced it \
on a local IDE harddrive running reiserfs as well as on an NFS mount.
